Minnesota at Penn State – 10/22/22 College Football Picks and Prediction

The Minnesota Golden Gophers and Penn State Nittany Lions face off on Saturday in a Big Ten college football showdown at Beaver Stadium. When these two teams faced off in 2019 it was Minnesota that secured the 31-26 victory.

Minnesota comes into this game with a 4-2 record overall but they have lost two games in a row, and suddenly there are a lot of questions surrounding this team. In the last game against Illinois, Minnesota was defeated 26-14. Quarterback Tanner Morgan completed 4 of his 12 passes for 21 yards, zero touchdowns, and one interception. He was hurt in the game and it’s unclear if he can’t go in this game. If he can’t go it will be Athan Kalikmanis who is the future of this Gophers program. Mo Ibrahim has missed a game this year but he has rushed 104 times for 694 yards and four touchdowns.

On the other side of thai matchup is Penn State who sits with a 5-1 record overall but the one loss was in the last game. Against Michigan, Penn State only scored 17 points while their defense gave up 41 points. Sean Clifford completed only 7 of his 19 passes for 120 yards, zero touchdowns, and zero interceptions. He did also rush six times for 74 yards. Two games ago Penn State beat Northwestern 17-7. Penn State is averaging 31.5 points while their defense is giving up 19.2 points per game. In this game, if the defense is good, Penn State should win this game.
