Miami lost two starters from a 29-8 team that went to the Final Four and there was expected to be some transition, but not like this. Miami is not a bad team as they ranked 66th on KenPom and 39th ranked in Adjusted Offensive Efficiency. But after beating Clemson at home on Jan. 3, the Hurricanes have lost three of their last four including a horrific 80-71 home loss to Louisville (190th KenPom) on January 10. To make matters worse, the Cardinals had just seven healthy scholarship players. Miami got Wooga Poplar back from an ankle injury that cost him two games and scored 18 points. They bounced back to beat Virginia Tech 75-71 on the road on Jan. 13, but this past Wednesday, fell at home to Florida State 84-75 as a 6.5-point favorite.

In the loss to Florida State, Nigel Pack led the 'Canes with 19 points, while Poplar and Norchard Omier added 15 points apiece. Miami shot just 25% (7-of-28) from beyond the arc and 14 of 24 (58%) from the line. They allowed FSU to make 49% of their shots (4-of-17) from three-point range. They made 29 of 51 (57%) from two-point range.

Omier (6-7, 248) leads the Hurricanes with 17.2 points and 9.6 rebounds on 62.4% shooting. Poplar adds 15.9 points and 4.9 rebounds on 48.8% shooting (47.6% 3pt).  This is a dangerous offensive team that averages 83.2 points per game on 49.1% shooting (17th) and 39.6% from three-point range (8th). On defense, they allow 72.9 points on 42.7% shooting and 28.8% from long range (21st).
