Memphis will be looking to bounce back from a loss to Portland when it travels to Cleveland for the second leg of a back-to-back on Thursday night. The Grizzlies have lost six of their last seven games, including a 122-112 setback against Portland on Wednesday. Cleveland has alternated between wins and losses in each of its last seven games, falling to Miami in a 100-97 setback on Tuesday.
Memphis was the hottest team in the NBA from the end of December to the middle of January, rattling off 12 consecutive wins. That hot streak was capped of by a 115-114 win over Cleveland, but the Grizzlies proceeded to lose their next five games. They were on the road for all five of those contests, falling to the Kings and Timberwolves by double digits during that stretch. Memphis was able to bounce back with a 112-100 win over Indiana on Sunday before losing to Portland at home on Wednesday, snapping an eight-game home winning streak. Memphis was outscored by 16 points in the fourth quarter, as Portland’s Damian Lillard poured in 42 points and dished out 10 assists.

The Grizzlies knocked down just 1 of 7 shots from 3-point range in the fourth quarter. Star guard Damian Lillard led the way with 32 points, 12 assists and nine rebounds, while Jaren Jackson Jr. had 18 points and six blocks. Center Brandon Clarke continued his hot stretch, going 3 of 6 from the floor—he has now made 24 of his last 35 shots. Veteran guard Danny Green, who missed the first 50 games of the season due to a knee injury, played 10 minutes and scored three points in his season debut. The Grizzlies have been a strong offensive team this season, ranked seventh in scoring (116.7). They are facing a Cleveland defense that leads the NBA, allowing just 106.8 points per game.
