The Los Angeles Lakers pay a visit to the Indiana Pacers at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Thursday night.
The Los Angeles Lakers have been in decent shape as they’ve won four of their last seven games overall and they will be hoping to stay hot after outlasting the Knicks in a 129-123 overtime road win on Tuesday. LeBron James led the team with a triple-double of 28 points with 10 rebounds and 11 assists, Anthony Davis added 27 points with nine rebounds while Rui Hachimura chipped in with 19 points on eight of 12 shooting. As a team, the Lakers shot 51 percent from the field and 11 of 33 from the 3-point line as they surrendered a 10-point lead to allow the Knicks to extend the game, but they clamped down defensively and held the Knicks to just nine points in overtime to escape with the much-needed victory.
Meanwhile, the Indiana Pacers have been in terrible shape as they’ve lost 10 of their last 11 games overall and they will be hoping to stop a three-game skid after getting routed by the Mavericks in a 112-100 road loss on Sunday. Bennedict Mathurin led the team with 27 points on nine of 20 shooting off the bench, Aaron Nesmith added 16 points while Myles Turner chipped in with 15 points. As a team, the Pacers shot 45 percent from the field and nine of 32 from the 3-point line as they dominated the first half to lead by as many as 19 points, but they couldn’t keep that pace in the second half where they got outscored by 62-38 to lose yet another game they should’ve won.
