This marks the last game, for each of these teams, before the All Star Break. It’s a rematch of a February 4th clash, at New Orleans. Entering this month’s earlier meeting, the Pelicans had lost 10 straight. The Lakers were off back-to-back wins and were rumored to be the frontrunner in the Kyrie Irving “sweepstakes.”
Eleven days can change a lot. Behind a 35-point performance from Brandon Ingram, the Pelicans erased a double-digit halftime deficit and rallied to win that February 4th game. They’ve now won four of five. The Lakers didn’t get Irving and they’ve now lost four of five.
