The Los Angeles Dodgers continue their East Coast swing and play game two of their weekend series in Washington on Saturday. The Dodgers are in first place in the NL West as they gear up for yet another playoff push in 2023. The Nationals find themselves in last place in the NL East Division but have shown fighting spirit this season as they continue a long rebuild. The pitching matchup on Saturday will feature Dodgers' righty Bobby Miller (9-3, 3.80) taking on Nationals' righty Jake Irvin (3-5, 4.35). The first pitch is scheduled for 4:10 PM EST.

The LA Dodgers continue their annual march toward October with a comfortable double-digit lead in the NL West. They have all but sewn up the second seed in the NL which will guarantee them a first-round bye in the playoffs. The Dodgers have cooled off lately, however, losing back-to-back series against the Braves and Marlins. The Dodgers will likely be without MVP-candidate Mookie Betts for the entire series with a foot injury.

The Dodgers will turn to rookie right-hander Bobby Miller in game two of this series. In a year that has seen the Dodgers starting rotation fall to a myriad of injuries, Miller has been a key figure for the Dodgers in just his first season. Miller is 9-3 in 17 starts including seven quality starts this season. Miller has allowed 82 hits in 94.2 innings pitched with an ERA of 3.80. He has a K/9 rate of 8.0 and a WHIP of 1.14. Miller is 4-1 on the road this season with an ERA of 2.70 while striking out 39 in 43.1 innings in eight starts. In his last five starts, Miller is 2-1 with an ERA of 2.87 while allowing 21 hits in 31.1 innings pitched.

Key Injuries: DH JD Martinez is out.
