Los Angeles Clippers vs. Milwaukee Bucks Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 2-2-2023

Los Angeles Clippers (29-25) vs. Milwaukee Bucks (34-17)

The 2022-23 NBA season goes on Thursday, February 2, with the cross-conference showdown from Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where the Los Angeles Clippers face off against the Milwaukee Bucks.

LA meets Milwaukee for the first time this term, and the Bucks open as 4.5-point home favorites with a total of 232.5 points. Milwaukee misses Bobby Portis (knee), while LA cannot count on John Wall (abdomen). The visitors listed Marcus Morris (ribs) as questionable to play, so let’s take a closer look.

The Los Angels Clippers (29-25; 27-27 ATS) put an end to their five-game winning streak last Sunday, suffering a heavy 122-99 defeat at the Cleveland Cavaliers. Two days later, the Clippers outlasted the Chicago Bulls 108-103 as 3-point road favorites. LA shot just 39.8% from the field and 27.3% from downtown (12-for-44), but the Clippers took good care of the ball (24/8 AST/TO ratio) while forcing Chicago into 20 turnovers.

Kawhi Leonard dropped 33 points on the Bulls to go with five assists, five steals, and a couple of blocks. Paul George double-doubled with 16 points and ten rebounds, while Norman Powell notched 27 points off the bench.

“He’s instant offense,” Clippers coach Tyronn Lue said of Powell. “Just come in the game and he can get it going quick. He was huge for us tonight.”

The Clippers occupy the fourth spot in the Western Conference. They score 113.2 points per 100 possessions (24th in the NBA) on 52.8% shooting from inside the arc (tied-24th) and 37.7% from downtown (tied-6th). The Clippers rank tenth in the league in adjusted defensive efficiency (113.1 points per 100 possessions) and ninth in opposing field goal percentage (46.7%).
