Kansas City Chiefs at San Francisco 49ers odds, picks and predictions

The Kansas City Chiefs (4-2) and San Francisco 49ers (3-3) face off in a Super Bowl LIV rematch this Sunday at Levi’s Stadium, with kickoff set for 4:25 p.m. ET (FOX). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Chiefs vs. 49ers odds, and make our expert NFL picks and predictions.

The Chiefs beat the 49ers 31-20 in Super Bowl LIV in February 2020. It was the last time these teams have faced. Overall, the series is split 7-7 between the Chiefs and Niners. They’ve faced twice during the Patrick Mahomes era, with the Chiefs QB putting up 6 TDs, 2 INTs and 2 wins during those games. Meanwhile, QB Jimmy Garoppolo has 4 TDs and 2 INTs as a 49er against Kansas City.

In Week 6, the Chiefs narrowly lost to the Buffalo Bills 24-20. Mahomes’ attempt to lead Kansas City on a game-winning drive was thwarted when he threw an interception with just a minute to go. The Chiefs failed to cover the 2.5-point spread with the loss, and have only covered the spread twice this season (2-4 overall ATS).

The 49ers lost 28-14 to the Atlanta Falcons in Week 6, with Garoppolo throwing 2 INTs. San Francisco didn’t cover the 3.5-point spread and has split against the spread this season (3-3 overall ATS). However, the 49ers seem to be getting a boost on offense as they just traded for Panthers RB Christian McCaffrey. It’s not fully known whether McCaffrey will play, but it was reported McCaffrey will likely be involved in red zone packages in Week 7.
