Hitter Prop Prediction 1: George Springer Under 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (+115)
Toronto Blue Jays right fielder George Springer is in the midst of brutal 2023 campaign with a .249 batting average, 13 home runs and 41 RBI across 447 plate appearances.
Springer has been locked in a brutal slump, going a staggering 1-39 across his last ten games resulting in a .191 batting average July batting average.
The Blue Jays dropped their leadoff man to 5th in the order this weekend to take the pressure of Springer and he responded by going 0-13 with five strikeouts.
Baltimore Orioles starting pitcher Kyle Gibson has dominated Springer throughout his career, holding him to 3-19 with five strikeouts and only one RBI. Gibson had his second-best outing of the season against the Jays with seven one run innings pitched on May 19th.
Witt Merrifield filled in at the leadoff spot for Springer this weekend and he is 11-42 (.262) against Gibson, so we should fully expect to see Springer buried in the order again.
Springer has only cleared 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBI in one of his last games after reaching on an infield hit. This play literally checks every box, and we get +115 odds!
Hitter Prop Prediction 2: Randal Grichuk Over 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (-120)
Newly acquired Los Angeles Angels right fielder Randal Grichuk has appeared in 64 games resulting in a .308 batting average, .861 OPS, 8 home runs and 27 RBI.
Grichuk has done most of his damage in July a .350 batting average, 6 home runs and 9 RBI across 64 plate appearances. He has recorded 2+ Hits + Runs + RBI in 11 of his last 13 games.
Atlanta Braves starting pitcher Charlie Morton has struggled in his last two starts, allowing eight earned runs including eight walks across only nine innings of work. Grichuk has hit well against Morton, going 6-18 (.333) against him with a double.
We have optimal hitting conditions tonight in Atlanta with temperatures close to 90 degrees and winds blowing out close to 10 MPH. Grichuk is projected to bat 5th in the Angels lineup, which is an optimal slot considering he will be batting behind Shohei Ohtani, Mickey Moniak and CJ Cron.
It’s a homecoming of sorts for both Grichuk and Cron as both were former 1st round picks in the Angels organization.
Grichuk should be inspired to continue his hot streak against a pitcher that he has seen success against in the past, making him a favorable play tonight in the ATL with a -120 price tag.
