Greece vs. USA Prediction, Pick & Odds: FIBA World Cupiv class=”bodyContent col-lg-9 mb-3″>

Greece and the USA delivered convincing victories to begin group play. Who will come away with the win when the two teams clash on Monday? Our Greece-USA prediction is based on the top FIBA World Cup odds from our best sports betting apps.

Greece came away with a convincing 92-71 victory over Jordan in its first Group C matchup after a rough series of tuneup outings leading up to the World Cup group stage matches. Meanwhile, the USA won its first-round matchup over New Zealand by a similar margin, but one of these squads will take a loss on Monday during a head-to-head matchup.

Greece is the ninth-ranked team in the world, while the USA is slotted second. International breakout star Anthony Edwards leads the USA, and he's averaging 22.0 points across his last three FIBA games overall, including two tuneup outings. Greece is missing Giannis Antetokounmpo and a number of key players, leaving Thomas Walkup to operate as the team's key playmaker.

USA defeated Greece 108-86 during an Aug. 18 tuneup. Will the Greeks give the Americans a better game in the rematch? Or will the USA continue its dominance over the field?

Here is our best Greece-USA prediction for Monday's FIBA World Cup matchup (odds via our best NBA betting sites; Pick confidence is based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Team USA has looked nearly unstoppable offensively thus far. The Americans scored over 180 points four times across five tuneup contests while defeating opponents by an average margin of 22.6 points and going 5-0.

Conversely, Greece went 2-4 in its tuneups while getting outscored by an average of 4.7 points and failing to eclipse 180 points four times.

USA blitzed Greece during the first nine minutes of the Aug. 18 matchup, but the Greeks kept the score within five po ints over the final 31 minutes while forcing 20 turnovers. After Team USA smoked them, the Greeks will surely try to slow down the pace and keep the USA from scoring in bunches. Winning the turnover battle should be a priority for the Greeks too, and that should lead to a lower-scoring affair.

That's why we'll take the Under in this one, and Greece to cover. This team trots out a top-10 unit in the world, even without Antetokounmpo, and one that will give the USA a better match than it did 10 days ago. Team USA should notch a double-digit win, but covering such a massive 23.5-point spread against a familiar opponent will be asking too much here.

DraftKings FanDuel BetMGM Caesars bet365
Under 179.5 Under 179.5 Under 179.5 Under 180.0 Under 179.5
-110 -113 -105 -115 -110

The totals are similar across all of our best sportsbooks, with Caesars offering it half a point higher than DraftKings, FanDuel, BetMGM, or bet365. The half point doesn't entice us to bet at Caesars because in order to win we'll need the total score to be 179 or lower, which is the case at all of these books.

We can push at Caesars if the score is 180 exactly, but the more profitable wager comes through BetMGM, which is offering the longest odds at -105.

Greece vs. USA odds analysis

USA is the monster 23.5-point favorite for this game after breezing through its tuneup contests and crushing New Zealand in the first outing of group play. It's no surprise that the Americans have been given a moneyline as short as -8000 at DraftKings and as long as -15000 through bet365. The Greeks are big dogs for a reas on, and there's no need to even think about betting either team on the moneyline.

The Americans have demolished opponents thus far. But they played Greece just 10 days ago, and the Greeks will surely be prepared for the rematch. Expect Greece to make adjustments like slowing down the pace, keeping the ball out of Edwards' hands as much as possible, and forcing turnovers. For that reason, we'll also target Greece +23.5, with BetMGM featuring the longest odds at -105.

I'll also make sure to sprinkle a little money on Tyrese Haliburton going Over 8.5 points through DraftKings, where that prop is being offered at +100 odds. Hali scored 10 points against New Zealand, and his efficient shooting and hot 3-point stroke give him a great chance to cash the Over on this prop for even money.
