Golden State Warriors vs. Portland Trail Blazers Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 4-9-2023

Portland was in action against the Clippers on the road Saturday in the front game of a back-to-back set. The Trail Blazers were beaten 129-127 against the Spurs in a game held in Austin in their previous game Thursday, though they did cover as a five-point underdog. In the all-time regular season series between the teams, the Trail Blazers own a 130-111 advantage though the Warriors have taken five of the last six meetings, including two of three this season. Golden State took a 123-105 home win in the most recent matchup February 28.

Golden State won their second straight and their seventh in the last nine games as they rolled past a Sacramento team resting key players Friday night. The Warriors improved to 43-38 on the season and entered Saturday holding the fifth seed in the Western Conference standings. They look to lock in a guaranteed playoff spot with a win. Against Sacramento, Golden State led by 16 after the opening quarter and regrouped after Sacramento narrowed the margin to five at intermission. The Warriors outscored the Kings 66-49 in the second half to pull away for the one-sided win. Golden State shot 52.6% from the floor, including 16 of 36 from three-point range, and won the rebounding battle 47-40 to offset 24 turnovers. Klay Thompson led the Warriors with 29 points in the win.

On the year, the Warriors are 2nd in the league in scoring offense as they put up an average of 118.2 points per game. Golde n State stands 13th in rebounding as they collect an average of 44 boards per contest while they are 1st in assists by handing out an average of 29.8 dimes per contest. The Warriors are first in the league in threes per game by knocking down 16.6 triples a nig ht while they are 3rd in three-point shooting by hitting 38.3% from beyond the arc as a team.

Iguodala (hip) has played just eight games and underwent wrist surgery last month. He Is to be re-evaluated in late April. Wiggins (personal) has been out since February 13 and is back with the team, though he has to be cleared by the medical staff.
