Pineda vs Lutz Prediction
After a six-year absence, Daniel Pineda's second UFC run hasn't gone as planned. After knocking out Herbert Burns in his return, he picked up a second-round KO loss to Cub Swanson before fighting Andre Fili to a no-contest after Fili accidentally poked Pineda's eye. For the record, Pineda was outhit 34-15 by Fili and was also taken down once before the fight was stopped.
On the other side, Tucker Lutz aims to rebound from a unanimous decision loss to Pat Sabatini. Before that defeat, Lutsz had rattled off 12 consecutive victories, finishing off eight opponents over that stretch.
Though Pineda has experience on his side, he's turning 38 years old later this year and his best days are behind him. He's only won once in his last five MMA fights and now faces a younger opponent who's hungry to bounce back.
Lutz's finishing ability will likely pay off here as he exposes Pineda in front of the combat sports world.
Pineda vs Lutz Best Bet
Considering how Pineda has been outstruck 80-36 in his last two fights, I like Lutz winning by KO/TKO at +190 odds. As mentioned before, Lutz knows how to finish the opposition and has six knockout victories in his young career. On top of that, Pineda has been finished nine times over the last 15 years (three by KO/TKO, six by submission).
With Pineda having issues defending himself since his UFC comeback, expect Lutz to leave his opponent seeing stars.
