The Dallas Stars (19-8-3-1, 11-20 PL, 20-11 O/U) battle the Nashville Predators (19-14, 18-15 PL, 13-14-5 O/U) in a divisional bout on Friday evening. The Dallas Stars posted a road win against the Canucks on Thursday night. The Predators recorded a home win against the Flyers. Dallas won all four meetings last season.

The Dallas Stars are seeking a third consecutive victory. The squad is enjoying a 4-0-1 stretch including a 5-4 win against the Senators and a 4-3 overtime home win against the Kraken. Dallas came through with a 4-3 overtime home victory against the Canucks on Thursday night. The Stars have rallied into first place atop the Central division and have games in hand on the Avalanche and Jets.

Joe Pavelski continues to produce. The 39-year-old center has recorded nine points in his last ten games including one point on Thursday night. Pavelski leads the squad with 30 points on the season. Matt Duchene is in his first year as a member of the Stars. The 32-year-old center is hot, amassing at least one point in five consecutive games, and has collected 10 points in his last eight clashes. He is up to 29 points.  Miro Heiskanen plays more minutes than most pl ayers, averaging 25 minutes of ice per game. The 24-year-old defenseman has posted seven points in his last five bouts and has reported 23 points on the season. Heiskanen was productive against Nashville last year, issuing five points in four meetings.

The Stars have started backup Scott Wedgewood in four consecutive games. Jake Oettinger is dealing with an illness and is questionable. Oettinger is considered one of the better goalies in the NHL but has been inconsistent. He has registered a 2.93 GAA and a .901 save % accompanied by an 11-7-2 record. Scott Wedgewood allowed just two goals on Thursday and has a 3.17 GAA and a .903 save % accompanied by an 8-1-2 record.

Dallas is scoring an average of 3.5 goals per game, good for fifth. They are holding opponents to only 3.1 goals, placing them 16th.
