The offense has been great but the defense has also stepped up, allowing only 2.68 goals per game with only three goals in the last three games. Esa Lindell and Miro Heiskanen have combined for 10.3 defensive point shares and 241 blocked shots while Colin Miller, Jani Hakanpaa, and Ryan Suter have combined for 12.3 defensive point shares to add depth to the unit. In addition, goaltender Jake Oettinger h as been great with a .918 save percentage and a 2.42 goals-against average on 1738 shots with 23.5 goals saved above average.
