Colorado suffered their fifth straight loss as they were swept in Atlanta with none of the four games being remotely close. The Rockies dropped to 29-45 on the season and entered Monday in the basement of the NL West, 15 games behind the Diamondbacks for the top spot. Against Atlanta, Colorado led 5-0 after one and a half innings only to get pounded 14-1 the rest of the way to take the loss. Ryan McMahon (two runs, three RBI) had three hits for the Rockies while Mike Moustakas (run) and Randal Grichuk (run) each added two. McMahon (his 11th and 12th) homered twice in the loss for the Rockies, who went one for 14 with runners in scoring position. Chase Anderson (0-1) took the loss as he allowed seven runs on seven hits with four walks and two strikeouts over three innings of work.

Kyle Freeland is on the hill for his 16th start of the season for the Rockies in this co ntest. He comes in 4-8 with a 4.48 ERA, a 1.344 WHIP, 22 walks and 50 strikeouts over 80.1 innings of work this season. Freeland took the loss in his last start, which came Thursday on the road against the Braves. He threw 4.1 innings, allowing seven runs on nine hits with three walks and one strikeout in a game the Rockies dropped 8-3. In his last three starts, Freeland is 0-2 with a 5.51 ERA, a 1.47 WHIP, five walks and seven strikeouts over 16.1 innings of work. Freeland makes his eighth career start against the Reds in this contest. He comes in 3-2 with a 6.34 ERA, a 1.565 WHIP, eight walks and 23 strikeouts over 38.1 innings of work against them.
