The defending World Series champions will try to keep their 2022 season alive when they face Philadelphia in Game 4 of the NLDS on Saturday afternoon. Atlanta was able to tie the series with a 3-0 win on Wednesday, but the Braves struggled to compete on Friday night. Philadelphia blew out Atlanta in a 9-1 final, giving the Phillies a chance to win the series at home.

Atlanta got off to a slow start in the series, trailing Philadelphia 7-1 going into the latter stages of the game. The Braves were able to reset with a strong performance from Kyle Wright in Game 2, cruising to a 3-0 win. They could not match Philadelphia on the road on Friday night, falling into an early hole when rookie Spencer Strider was shelled. Atlanta now has to pick up a win on Saturday afternoon to send the series back to Georgia for a deciding Game 5. Right fielder Ronald Acuna Jr. leads the Braves with four hits this postseason, batting at a .571 clip.

Right-handed pitcher Charlie Morton is going to start for Atlanta on Saturday afternoon. Morton was originally a candidate to start on Friday, but manager Brian Snitker elected to go with Strider. The 38-year-old has yet to pitch in the postseason after posting a 6.23 ERA in his final five outings of the regular season. Morton allowed three runs on nine hits and one walk across 4.1 innings against the Mets in his final start. He finished the regular season with a 4.34 ERA and 1.23 WHIP in 172 innings across 31 starts. Morton is 7-4 with a 3.35 ERA and 89 strikeouts in 17 playoff appearances during his career.
