Tip off is set for 8:00 PM Eastern.

Let's dive in.

The Sun Devils spurred on a late second half rally to oust the Stanford Cardinal on the road. Arizona State held Stanford scoreless for the final four minutes of the game, which allowed the Sun Devils to take their final lead of the game. Arizona State allowed 17 offensive rebounds, but were able to snag 14 in their own right. The offense has stagnant at times as they assisted on just six of their 27 made baskets. DJ Horne led the Sun Devils in scoring with 18 points.

Arizona State enters this contest with a net scoring margin of +4.4 points per game which is 100th in the country. The offense hasn't been too strong this season as they find themselves bottom 100 in both field goal percentage and from beyond the arc. The defense, on the other hand, has been very good. The Sun Devils are currently 9th in opponent field goal percentage and are 3rd in the country in opponent 2-point shooting. In term s of interior defense, the Sun Devils are holding their foes to just 47% near the rim and lead the country in opponent near proximity shooting. This strong defense inside has been aided by Arizona State's 5.2 blocks per game which is top 20 in the country. The defense has also shown the propensity to come away with steals as they rank 3rd in conference in opponent turnovers per contest. When they are able to come away with steals, they have had success creating scoring chances as they are ranked top 75 in potential quick points off steals while the Cal defense is 192nd in that category. Offensively they have taken care of the ball well also. The Sun Devils find themselves in 3rd in conference in terms of turnover rate per contest, although that number has ticked up in four of their last five. On the season the Sun Devils have done well to distribute the ball consistently as they rank 38th in assist to field goals made. This should continue to be the case as Cal has not proven to limit opponent assists and finds themselves as one of the worst teams in the country opponent assist/turnover ratio.
