Cardinals vs Vikings Prediction, Odds & Best Bet for NFL Week 8

Week 8 of the 2022 NFL season is here, bringing a few exciting matchups. Two exciting NFC teams will be in action when the Minnesota Vikings host the Arizona Cardinals. The Cardinals look re-energized after getting No. 1 wideout DeAndre Hopkins back from suspension last week, while the Vikings aim to win their fifth straight game.

Can the Cardinals win their first game in Minnesota in nearly 45 years? Or will the high-flying Vikings be too much for the opposition to handle?

Cardinals vs Vikings Odds

According to FanDuel Sportsbook's'NFL odds, the Vikings are a slight -184 favorite on the moneyline (3.5-point spread) in a game with an over/under of 48.5.

What should NFL fans expect in this matchup, and where can bettors find value?

Cardinals vs Vikings Prediction and Best Bet

The Cardinals have had absolutely no luck whenever they face the Vikings on the road. Arizona has lost 10 straight road matchups against Minnesota, having not won away from home since 1977 – back when the former was known as the "St. Louis Cardinals."

Nevertheless, this is a game where I expect a lot of points to be scored. The Cardinals finally look like themselves after putting up 42 points against the New Orleans Saints last week, while the Dolphins have scored at least 24 points in their last four games.

The Vikings' offensive success should continue, seeing as the Cardinals have the sixth-worst scoring defense this season. I'm expecting the likes of Justin Jefferson and Adam Thiele n to go off against an Arizona secondary that surrenders the eighth-most passing yards per game.

Having said that, the Vikings give up the fifth-most passing yards, so Hopkins and the other Cardinals pass-catchers should see plenty of opportunities to do some damage, too. Still, Minnesota has had the better overall defense, which should be the difference-maker, leading to a Vikings shootout win.

With all signs pointing to a high-scoring affair, there's no doubt that taking over 48.5 points on the total is the way to go in this matchup. It should be a close one too and in order to get more value out of a Minnesota win, take the Vikings winning by one to 13 points at +140 odds.
