Houston won their second straight game as they rallied for the victory Friday night in the opening game of this series between the last two World Series champions. The Astros entered Saturday tied for second in the AL West with a 10-10 record, leaving them 2.5 games behind the Rangers for the top spot. On Friday night, Houston trailed 4-1 after the opening inning but blanked the Braves the rest of the way for the win. Mauricio Dubon (two runs, RBI) had three hits to lead the Astros while Alex Bregman (RBI), Corey Julks (run) and Jake Meyers (run, RBI) each added two hits in the game. Yordan Alvarez broke a 4-4 tie with a two-run homer, his fifth of the season, with two outs in the ninth to give the Astros the lead for good. Hunter Brown didn’t factor in the decision as he threw 4.2 innings, allowing four runs on seven hits with two walks and seven strikeouts. Hector Neris (1-1) earned the win with a scoreless eighth inning, striking out two, while Ryan Pressly worked the ninth, walking one and striking out one, to earn his first save.

Cristian Javier is on the mound for his fifth start of the season for the Astros in this contest. He comes in 2-0 with a 3.68 ERA, a 1.136 WHIP, four walks and 19 strikeouts over 22 innings of work on the year. Javier earned the win in his last start, which came Monday at home against the Blue Jays.
