The New York Rangers (18-10-4-1, 13-20 PL, 14-18 O/U) collide with the Pittsburgh Penguins (18-9-4-0, 15-16 PL, 13-16 O/U) in a divisional showdown on Tuesday night. The Rangers posted a road win against the Blackhawks on Sunday night. The Penguins were dealt a road loss by the Hurricanes in their previous action. The Rangers went 3-1 against the Penguins in the regular season last year and beat them in the first round of the playoffs.

The New York Rangers conclude a mini three-game road trip on Tuesday. They posted a 6-3 win against the Flyers on Saturday night followed by a dominating 7-1 road win against the Blackhawks on Sunday night. The Rangers are one of the hottest squads in the NHL, winning seven consecutive games including victories against the Avalanche, Devils, and Maple Leafs. They are now only three points out of first place in the division.

Artemi Panarin isn’t scoring many goals but is sure creating offense, collecting 13 assists this month. The veteran winger now has five points in his last two games and 32 assists and 40 points on the year. Mike Zibanejad has racked up 12 points this month. The 29-year-old center is probably going to have another 80-point season, recording 37 points so far. Zibanejad had six points against the Penguins in the regular season last year. Adam Fox recorded three points in Sun day’s victory. The 24-year-old defenseman continues to log about 25 minutes of ice per game and now has 34 points and a plus-11 rating.

The Rangers will likely have Igor Shesterkin between the pipes in this game. The 26-year-old is having his best month of the season and is sporting a stifling 2.39 GAA and a .919 save % accompanied by a 16-4-4 record. New York is piling on the goals in the winning streak and is scoring an average of 3.3 goals on the season, good for 12th. They are limiting opponents to only 2.7 goals, placing them sixth in the NHL.
