2022 NFL Hall of Fame Game Jaguars vs. Raiders odds, betting trends: Favorites have been profitable wager in preseason opener

The 2022 NFL preseason kicks off tonight from Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton, Ohio as the Las Vegas Raiders “host” the Jacksonville Jaguars in the annual Hall of Fame Game – both teams will be debuting new head coaches and most surely sitting the vast majority of their starters. The Raiders are 2.5-point favorites at Caesars Sportsbook with a miniscule total of 30.5. That will probably be the lowest total of the exhibition season.

The league now schedules t eams in the game that will have players being enshrined into the Hall of Fame later in the weekend. The Raiders' Cliff Branch (posthumously) and defensive lineman Richard Seymour will be enshrined Saturday, as will Jaguars offensive lineman Tony Boselli. The Raiders are 3-0 all-time in this game, last playing in 2006. The Jaguars are 0-1.

Because both teams have an additional exhibition game, very few if any starters will play on both sides. We already know the Jaguars will not play No. 1 quarterback Trevor Lawrence or backup CJ Beathard. Jake Luton will start. Kyle Sloter should play plenty behind him.

It would be shocking if Derek Carr and new addition receiver Davante Adams see the field for Las Vegas; the other QBs on the roster are Jarrett Stidham, Nick Mullens and Chase Garbers. Carr has a total of nine passing attempts over the last three preseasons and didn't see the field at all in three contests last year, but that was under Jon Gruden.
