Once Upon A Time In Las Vegas – Wildcard Edition

The Yale Bulldogs (11-5, 9-5 ATS, 3-10 O/U) will collide with the Cornell Big Red (12-4, 10-4 ATS, 7-7 O/U) in an Ivy League battle on Friday night. The Bulldogs posted a home win against Harvard last time out. The Big Red dropped a home decision against Princeton in their previous game. Each squad posted a home win in last year’s two meetings.

The Yale Bulldogs are targeting their second conference win. They were 0-2 after losing to Columbia and Dartmouth and rebounded nicely by posting a 58-54 home win against Harvard on Saturday but didn’t cover the rather large seven-point spread. Yale went on a six-game winning streak to open the season and have losses against Colorado, Butler, and Kentucky. They have not covered the spread in three consecutive games.

Matt Knowling has scored at least 16 points in two of his last three performances. The junior forward collected 17 points in the recent 81-77 loss to Dartmouth and has delivered an average of 15.8 PPG on 62% shooting. EJ Jarvis rarely has a bad game, shooting at least 50% in all but one occasion this year. The senior forward has registered an average of 10.5 PPG along with 4.9 RPG. John Poulakidas has scored nine or fewer points in three straight clashes. The sophomore guard is averaging 10.4 PPG.

Yale is ranked 93rd in the country in Ken Pomeroy’s ratings and is good enough to battle for the top spot in the Ivy League. They have logged a 4-4 record on the road this year. The Bulldogs are posting an average of 74.4 points, landing them 138th. Yale has limited their opponent to 62 or fewer in three out of their last four games and is conceding an average of 58.3 points, good for ninth in DI.
