Yale at Cornell – 1/13/23 College Basketball Picks and Prediction

The Yale Bulldogs and Cornell Big Red face off on Friday in a college basketball showdown at the Newman Arena. When these two teams faced off last February it was Cornell that secured the 71-65 victory. 

Yale comes into this game with an 11-5 record overall and they have gone 9-5 against the spread. In the last game against Harvard, it was a lower scoring game, but Yale was able to secure the victory. EJ Jarvis had a strong game finishing with 18 points and eight rebounds. Yale is averaging 74.4 points while their defense is giving up 58.3 points per game. The defense is ranked 9th in the league, and they need the defense to be strong again in this game. Matt Knowling is averaging 15.8 points while shooting 62 percent from the field and 33.3 percent from behind the three point line. 

On the other side of this matchup is Cornell who sits with a 12-4 record and they have gone 10-4 against the spread. In the last game against Princeton, Cornell scored only 68 points and that led to the seven point defeat. Cornell is averaging 83.3 points while their defense is giving up 71.8 points per game. The offense is ranked 12th in college basketball and they need to get the offense back on the right track. Greg Dolan is averaging 13.4 points while shooting 53.7 percent from the field and 54.5 percent from behind the three point line.
