After an emotional victory over Venezuela, Team USA is one win away from returning to the WBC final, where they look to defend their 2017 title.
USA needed some late-inning heroics from Trea Turner to advance to the semifinals. Down 7-5 in the 8th inning, the Phillies' shortstop smashed an 0-2 pitch over the left-field wall for a go-ahead grand slam. USA won 9-7.
Their opponent, Cuba, is also looking to reach the WBC final for the first time since 2006. Cuba secured their spot earlier this week with a 4-3 victory over Australia.
