Wisconsin vs. Oregon Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 3-21-2023

The Oregon Ducks (21-14) from the Pac-12 will host the Wisconsin Badgers (19-14) from the Big 10 in the NIT quarterfinals Tuesday night on ESPN in Eugene, Oregon. These schools last met during the First Round of the NCAA Tournament in 2019, when Oregon pulled off a 12 vs 5 seed upset over Wisconsin 72-54.

Wisconsin had to settle for an NIT bid after losing to Ohio State 65-57 in the First Round of the Big Ten Tournament. The Badgers opened up the NIT with an 81-62 win as a three-point favorite over Bradley and followed that up with a 75-71 win as a four-point favorite over Liberty on Sunday.

Wisconsin has faced the 16th-rated strength of schedule and play slow, rated 342nd in adjusted tempo amongst 363 teams. The Badgers are rated No. 65 according to KenPom, with a stout defense that is 27th in adjusted efficiency and 33rd allowing 63.8 ppg. The Badgers are just 331st averaging 65.2 ppg on offense, but a solid 131st in adjusted offensive efficiency. Wisconsin is balanced at the top, led by 7-foot junior Steven Crowl with 12.3 ppg and 6.8 rebounds per game and 6'2 sophomore Chucky Hepburn with 12.2 ppg. Crowl had a huge game in the NIT opening win over Bradley with 36 points and nine rebounds. Hepburn was the leading scorer against Librty with 27 points in 37 minutes.
