Wisconsin vs. Nebraska Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 11-19-2022

The Wisconsin Badgers (5-5, 5-5 ATS, 6-4 O/U) meet with the Nebraska Cornhuskers (3-7, 3-6-1 ATS, 3-7 O/U) in a Big Ten battle on Saturday afternoon. The Badgers were charged with a road loss at Iowa last week. The Cornhuskers were clobbered by Michigan in their previous bout. Wisconsin recorded a 35-28 home win against Nebraska last season.

The Wisconsin Badgers are aiming for the important sixth win needed to secure bowl eligibility. They have been inconsistent this season and hit with a few surprising upset losses against Washington State and Michigan State. Wisconsin had a two-game winning streak snapped in a rough 24-10 road loss against Iowa last week in a bout that the Badgers labeled as one-point favorites. The Badgers are now 3-4 in conference play and have covered the spread in one of their four road games.

Graham Mertz has not fared well recently, converting on only 28% and 45% of his pass attempts in his last two games. The junior QB has yet to have a 300 passing yards effort and has collected 1883 passing yards along with an 18:8 TD to INT ratio on the year.

Braelon Allen continues to shine. The sophomore RB has eclipsed 100 rushing yards in four out of his last five games and now has accrued 1 029 rushing yards on 5.4 yards per carry. Chimere Duke has made 10 receptions in his last three clashes. The junior WR has brought in 601 receiving yards on the season. The Wisconsin offense has only scored 23 and 10 points respectively in their last two games.

The Badgers' defense is definitely their top strength. They have now conceded 24 or fewer points in three consecutive games. The unit limited Iowa to just 146 total yards last week. The pass defense ranks 32nd while the rush defense is even better, standing 15th. Wisconsin is scoring an average of 28.7 points, landing them 68th. They are limiting opponents to only 20.9 points, good for 27th in the country.
