Wisconsin-Green Bay (Green Bay) vs. Oregon State Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 12-18-2022

The (2-10) Wisconsin-Green Bay Phoenix and (5-6) Oregon State Beavers are set to battle for non-conference bragging rights on Sunday at Gill Coliseum. The Beavers, 5-1 at home, defeated Seattle University 73-58 in their last game. Green Bay, 0-6 in road games, was defeated 85-40 by Stanford in its last game. This will be the Phoenix's last non-conference battle before conference play, while OSU has one last game versus Denver before switching back to Pac-12 play.

Tip-off is at noon PT.

Wisconsin-Green Bay split its first four games of the month, picking up its first two wins over IUPUI and Kansas City. It has since lost its last two games, falling to St. Thomas-Minnesota and Stanford.

The 45-point loss to the Cardinal was a tough pill to swallow, as the Phoenix trailed by 23 at halftime and never recovered. Stanford shot 54.1 percent from the floor, while Green Bay shot just 26.5 percent. It was even less efficient from three-point range (19.0%). GB's 27 turnovers certainly didn't help, either.

The 22-point loss to the Tommies wasn't much prettier, as the Phoenix scored 24 first-half points. Green Bay was much more efficient from the floor (52%) due to a solid second-half effort, but it didn't make a dent on the scoreboard.

This season, Green Bay scores 57.8 points per game, shooting 40.0 percent from the field and 24.8 percent from distance. Its offensive efficiency rating, adjusted for schedule, is ranked 354th in the NCAA by KenPom. The Phoenix's leading scorer is sophomore forward Cade Meyer, who averages 12.0 points on 55.2 percent shooting. GB's assist-to-turnover ratio is 0.64, the 18th-worst ratio in the country.

Green Bay's opponents score 75.8 points per game, shooting 48.9 percent from the field and 37.2 percent from long range. The Phoenix's adjusted defensive efficiency rating is ranked 357th out of 363 Division-1 teams. Green Bay averages 24.9 rebounds per game (362nd), wh ile its opponents average 33.2 boards.

Green Bay is not a good basketball team, no matter how you spin it.
