The Winnipeg Jets face the New York Islanders with both teams looking to build off of strong seasons. The Jets have a 35-21-1 record and are in second place in the Central Division. The Islanders have a 29-24-7 record and with two wins in their last three games have jumped to the middle of the Metropolitan Division. Both teams look to continue to improve in their divisions and the playoff picture and the upcoming game looks to be a great one.

The Jets are having a great season with their offense stepping up and scoring 3.14 goals per game. Kyle Connor, Pierre-Luc Dubois, and Mark Scheifele have scored 84 goals and 88 assists to lead the top two lines but the rest of the offense has also stepped up. Blake Wheeler, Cole Perfetti, and Adam Lowry have combined for 30 goals and 67 assists while defensemen Josh Morrissey and Neal Pionk have added 19 goals and 64 assists to open up the offense.

The offense has been great but the defense has carried the Jets, allowing only 2.60 goals per game with only 11 goals in the last five games. Josh Morrissey and Brenden Dillon have combined for 7.5 defensive point shares and 168 blocked shots while Neal Pionk, Dylan DeMelo, and Nate Schmidt have combined for 9.1 defensive point shares to add depth to the unit. In addition, goaltender Connor Hellebuyck has been great with a .926 save percentage and a 2.39 goals-against average on 1372 shots with 27.6 goals saved above average.
