The Jets are off to a great start with their offense leading the way, scoring 3.43 goals per game with eight goals in the last two games. Kyle Connor and Mark Scheifele have scored nine goals and five assists to lead the top line but the rest of the offense has stepped up as well. Mason Appleton, Nino Niederreiter, and Alex Iaffalo have combined for seven goals and six assists while defensemen Josh Morrissey and Dylan DeMelo have added two goals and 10 assists from the point to open up the offense.

The offense has been great but the defense has struggled, allowing 3.43 goals per game. Josh Morrissey, Dylan DeMelo, and Dylan Samberg have led the top two pairings with 1.4 defensive point shares but the rest of the unit has struggled, allowing opponents to find open shots on the net at will. In addition, goaltender Connor Hellebuyck is having a rough season in the net with a .899 save percent age and a 2.99 goals-against average on 179 shots.
