The Winnipeg Jets face the Montreal Canadiens with both teams on opposite ends of the standings this season. The Jets have a 29-14-1 record and with three wins in a row are in first place in the Central Division. The Canadiens have an 18-23-3 record and with only three wins in the last 10 games, have fallen to last place in the Atlantic Division. Both teams look to improve in their conferences and the upcoming game looks to be a good one as a result.

The Jets are having a great season with their offense stepping up and scoring 3.34 goals per game. Kyle Connor, Pierre-Luc Dubois, and Mark Scheifele have scored 67 goals and 74 assists to lead the top two lines but the rest of the offense has also been great. Blake Wheeler, Cole Perfetti, and Adam Lowry have combined for 24 goals and 55 assists while defensemen Neal Pionk and Josh Morrissey have added 15 goals and 52 assists from the point to put the offense over the top.

The offense has been great but the defense has carried the Lightning, allowing only 2.59 goals per game with only four goals in the last three games. Josh Morrissey and Dylan DeMelo have combined for 5.9 defensive point shares and 112 blocked shots while Brenden Dillon, Nate Schmidt, and Neal Pionk have combined for 6.8 defensive point shares to add depth to the unit. Additionally, goaltender Connor Hellebuyck is having a great se ason in the net with a .926 save percentage and a 2.37 goals-against average on 1048 shots.
