Winnipeg Jets (8-3-1) vs. Calgary Flames (5-6-2)

The 2022-23 NHL betting action continues Saturday with this Western Conference battle when the Winnipeg Jets travel to take on the Calgary Flames at Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta.

This contest pits two teams heading in opposite directions as Winnipeg enters as one of the hottest teams in the NHL while the Flames are anything but hot. Winnipeg has won their last three games after defeating the Dallas Stars on Tuesday, 5-1. Calgary is having an abysmal November, losing to Boston on Thursday (3-1) making them 0-4-2 this month. The Jets won two of the three games between these teams last season.

The Winnipeg Jets (8-3-1) defeated the Dallas Stars on Tuesday, 5-1. That extended the teams point streak to seven straight games (6-0-1). Winnipeg is 7-5 ATS and is 7-2-1 in their last 10, including going 3-2-1 on the road. Mason Appleton led the way with a goal and two assists and Mark Schiefele had two tallies in the victory.

“We're not sitting back on our heels, we're playing on our toes, we're making it hard on teams to make plays and make continuous passes,” Scheifele explained after the victory. “That comes with playing fast and having good sticks and trusting your teammates. I think we've done a really good job with that.”

The Jets are winning behind spectacular goaltending, as they are third in goals allowed per game at 2.33. Connor Hellebuyck has been leading the way, 7-2-1 through his first 10 decisions with a 1.98 goals-against average and a .938 save percentage. He has been helped by a solid penalty-killing unit that is six (83.3%). Winnipeg is 16th in goals scored per game (3.17).
