The Winnipeg Jets and Vegas Golden Knights face off on Thursday in an NHL showdown at T-Mobile Arena. When these two teams faced off in March it was the Jets that secured the 4-0 victory.
Heading into Wednesday’s game against the Colorado Avalanche the Winnipeg Jets had a 1-1-0 record. On Monday against the Dallas Stars, the Jets only scored one goal and that led to the 4-1 defeat. In the first game against the New York Rangers, the Jets scored four goals and they were able to secure a three goal victory. The Jets are averaging 2.5 goals while their defense is giving up 2.5 goals per game. Mark Scheifele has scored three goals so far this season. The Jets are expected to start Connor Hellebuyck and he sits with a 1-1 record and he is giving up 2.50 goals per game.
On the other side of this matchup is Vegas who sit with a 3-1 record overall but they are coming off a loss in their last game. Vegas scored two goals against Calgary but the defense gave up three goals and that led to the one goal defeat. Vegas is averaging 3.0 goals per game while their defense is giving up 2.0 goals per game. The defense is ranked 3rd and they need the defense to continue to be good here. Jack Eichel scored one goal and added another two assists. The Golden Knights are expected to start Logan Thompson in goal and he sits with a 2-1 record and is giving up 2.03 goals per game.
