Botterill is the assistant general manager for the Seattle Kraken, a team that made it to the Western Conference semifinal in just its second season of existence. That's as far as the Maple Leafs' star-studded and highly expensive roster made it during Dubas' five seasons at the helm.
The former Buffalo Sabres winger will get plenty of credit for what the Kraken have accomplished since their expansion.
