White Sox vs. Guardians Tuesday Game 2 odds: Luis Robert, Josh Naylor expected back in lineup, Tim Anderson likely to sit

The Cleveland Guardians beat the Chicago White Sox 4-1 in Game 1 of a day-night doubleheader Tuesday – the Sox are now 0-5 at Progressive Field this year and have been outscored 32-10. Chicago played the opener with arguably its best player, outfielder Luis Robert, on the bench. He is expected back in the lineup for Game 2, but All-Star shortstop Tim Anderson will likely sit. Cleveland slugger Josh Naylor sat the opener but also should play tonight.'The Sox are currently -170 favorites at Ca esars Sportsbook behind All-Star snub Dylan Cease.

Robert is hitting .283 and leads the team with 10 homers (tied with Jose Abreu), 46 RBI and 11 steals (tied with Anderson). The Guardians are set to start lefty Konnor Pilkington (1-1, 4.08 ERA) in the nightcap, and Robert is slashing .357/.393/.554 (20-for- 56) with three homers vs. left-handers.

Anderson (.317, 11 SB) is recently back from a hamstring issue so while the Sox need all the wins they can get right now, Tony La Russa almost surely will not let his leadoff hitter play 18 innings in one day. Leury Garcia, who also didn't start Game 1, likely would lead off and play short. After losing the first game, the Sox fell to 132-98 since 2020 when Anderson is in the starting lineup. They're 37-40 when he is not. Chicago is 26-3 in that stretch when he homers.

Cleveland's Naylor (.279, 11 HRs, 43 RBIs) has missed some time recently with a lower back issue so it's not a surprise he isn't p laying both ends of the twin-bill.'In his past 14 games, Naylor is batting .306 with four homers and eight RBIs.
