Eric Bieniemy played college football at the University of Colorado from 1987-1990. He was a running back.
Actually, labeling Bieniemy as merely “a running back” is a bit inaccurate. He was an awesome running back that helped Colorado to its all-time program peak, back when it dominated college football odds in the late 80s.
Bieniemy finished his four-year career at Colorado with 3,940 rushing yards (5.6 career ypc) and 41 touchdowns.'
In 1990, he was the chief offensive engine for Colorado in a year when the Buffalo won the national championship. Bieniemy himself was named Big Eight Offensive Player of the Year and finished third in the Heisman Trophy voting.
