Citizens Bank Park, home to the Philadelphia Phillies, opened April 3, 2004. The stadium hosted its first regular season MLB game on April 12, 2004, with the Phillies losing to the Cincinnati Reds, 4-1.

The stadium has a capacity of 42,792. It was built to replace the adjacent Veterans Stadium.

Before Citizens Bank Park, Veterans Stadium was home to the Phillies from 1971 to 2003. The final game at Veterans Stadium was held on Sept. 28, 2003, with the Phillies losing to the Atlanta Braves, 5-2. The ballpark was demolished by implosion on March 21, 2004.
