The Western Michigan Broncos and Miami of Ohio Redhawks face off on Saturday in a MAC college football showdown at Yager Stadium. When these two teams faced off in 2019 it was Western Michigan that secured the 38-16 victory.
Western Michigan comes into this game with a 2-5 record overall and they have lost two games in a row. In the last game against Ohio, the offense could only manage 14 points, and that led to the 19-point defeat. Jack Salopek really struggled in the last game completing 17 of his 31 passes for 249 yards, one touchdown, and five interceptions. He needs to do a better job of not turning over the ball. Running back Sean Tyler rushed 19 times for 84 yards. Western Michigan is averaging 21.4 points while their defense is giving up 31.1 points per game.
On the other side of this matchup is the Miami Redhawks who sit with a 3-4 record and they are coming off a loss in the last game. The Redhawks only scored 13 points, and that led to the four-point defeat. Aveon Smith completed 9 of his 17 passes for 91 yards, one touchdown, zero interceptions. Miami of Ohio is averaging 19.7 points while their defense is giving up 24 points per game. In this game, the Redhawks are going to need to find a way to get the offense going, or this will be another long game.
