Western Kentucky held off Louisiana Tech, prevailing 35-28, on the road in their previous contest October 5. They covered the line as a six-point favorite. Jacksonville State was drubbed 31-13 at home by Liberty in their previous contest last Tuesday, failing to cover the line as a seven-point underdog. This marks the first time the two programs have met as FBS opponents.

Western Kentucky won their second straight game as they took down Louisiana Tech on the road in their previous contest October 5. The Hilltoppers improved to 4-2 overall on the season and stand second in Conference USA with a 2-0 mark. Against Louisiana Tech, Western Kentucky gave up the game’s opening touchdown before reeling off 35 unanswered points to lead 35-7 at the half. The Hilltoppers managed to hang on for the win despite getting outscored 21-0 in the second half. Western Kentucky held a 426-397 edge in total offense and turned the ball over once while forcing a pair of turnovers in the game. Those numbers offset the fact that they gave up 19 first downs while allowing 14 and lost the time of possession by a 33:57 to 26:03 margin in the contest.
The Hilltoppers enter this contest 25th in the nation with 287.8 yards per game through the air while they are 122nd i n rushing with 102.2 yards per contest. Lucas Carneiro has hit all 23 extra point attempts and six of six field goal attempts with a long of 45 this season.
