West Virginia Mountaineers at Oklahoma Sooners – 1/14/23 College Basketball Picks and Prediction

The West Virginia Mountaineers will head to Norman and meet the Oklahoma Sooners in Big 12 play from the Lloyd Noble Center on ESPN2. This will mark the 25th time Oklahoma and West Virginia face off, and OU holds the all-time series lead, 15-9, after winning six straight meetings.

West Virginia fell to 10-6 after losing to Baylor at home. The Mountaineers nearly rallied back from a halftime deficit, but they’d fall to the Bears by five points. West Virginia is scoring 78.3 points per game, while allowing 68.9 ppg, while shooting 46.4% from the floor.

West Virginia hasn’t picked up a win since Christmas, and the hits just keep coming in Big 12 play. The 0-4 start in conference play is far from ideal for Bob Huggins’ squad, but it’s unclear how much they can improve. Erik Stevenson leads the team in scoring after coming over from South Carolina at 13.8 ppg. Texas transfer Tre Mitchell has posted two double-doubles in conference play, and he leads WVU in rebounding (6.1), while scoring 13.4 ppg.
