Week 13 NFL: Previewing the Tennessee Titans at Philadelphia Eagles matchup

Tennessee Titans at Philadelphia Eagles

The Titans were a good short-term sell at the top of the market last week even as a home underdog with playoff revenge against the Bengals. The oddsmakers were basically telling us who they thought was the better team. Most of the stats were equal, but the difference was Derrick Henry was held to 38 rushing yards on 17 carries.

Now Tennessee goes back on the road for what is a fairly good matchup for them in Philadelphia. While they have shown some incremental improvements with the recent additions of Linval Joseph and Ndamukong Suh on the defensive line, the Eagles still rank 24th in Rush Defense DVOA, so Henry and the Titans running game should be able to get back on track.

Philadelphia dominated the time of possession (35:34-24:36) in its 40-33 Sunday night victory over Green Bay but still gave up 7 yards per play to a Packers team that was led by Aaron Rodgers, who has had a lingering thumb issue and looked mentally disengaged, and had Jordan Love play the final 12 minutes of the fourth quarter.

This is also a battle of No. 1s as the Eagles offense ranks No. 1 in Rush Offense DVOA while the Titans defense ranks No. 1 in Rush Defense DVOA.
