Washington and Portland wrap up their two-game regular-season set, and the Trail Blazers aim for their fourth straight victory over the Wizards. Back on February 3, Portland beat Washington 124-116 as a 4.5-point road dog. Both teams play on the second night of a back-to-back this time around, and Monday’s games have been excluded from the analysis.
The 26-29 Washington Wizards took on the Golden State Warriors on Monday night to start a three-game road trip. The Wizards were looking for their third straight victory, as they’ve beaten the Charlotte Hornets 118-104 and Indiana Pacers 127-113 over their previous two outings.
Kristaps Porzingis dropped 36 points on the Hornets, going 8-for-14 from beyond the 3-point line. The Wizards made 50.6% of their field goals (15-for-37 from deep) and handed out 29 assists. They shot 64.0% from the field against the Pacers (12-for-26 from deep), and Bradley Beal led the way with 32 points and six assists.
“We talked about it at halftime — we're not going to shoot 70% all game,” Washington coach Wes Unseld Jr. said after his team scored 80 first-half points versus Indiana. “But we still shot pretty well. That was kind of the message. Don't get complacent with just making shots.”

Kyle Kuzma (21.3 PPG, 7.6 RPG, 4.0 APG) has missed three straight games due to an ankle injury and was listed as questionable for Monday’s clash against Golden State. The Wizards were ninth in the Eastern Conference, just half a game ahead of Toronto and Chicago. Washington is scoring 114.1 points per 100 possessions (tied-16th in the NBA) while yielding 114.2 points in return (tied-14th).
