This Tuesday, the (11-20) Washington Wizards will travel to Phoenix, AZ to take on the (18-12) Phoenix Suns. Tipoff will be at 9:00 PM EST inside the Footprint Center. These two teams have not matched up this season, but I am still expecting a battle in this one.

The Washington Wizards are coming into this one after losing to the Los Angeles Lakers, 119-117. They struggled on the defensive end of the court, as they will have to get more stops in this game if they want to challenge the Suns on the road.

The Suns are entering this matchup after defeating the New Orleans Pelicans, 118-114. They were extremely efficient on the offensive end of the floor, as they will have to stay hot in this one if they want to take care of business at home.

This game was written/published before last night's results.

The Washington Wizards are currently in 12th place in the Eastern Conference standings, as they trail the first-place Celtics by 11 games. On offense, they are scoring 110.6 points per game and they are shooting 47.2% from the floor. This is the 23rd most points scored per contest and the 14th-highest team shooting percentage. According to dunksandthrees.com, the Wizards have an adjusted offensive rating of 111.6, which is the 21st-highest rating in the NBA. Kristaps Porzingis continues to lead the way on the offensive end of the court, as he is scoring 22.4 points per game on 47.5% shooting from the floor. The Wizards have also shown that they struggle to consistently knock down shots from the outside. They have only made 34.5% of their shots from behind the arc, which is the 19th-highest three-point shooting percentage in the league. Washington has also had issues at the charity stripe, as they haven't taken advantage of their free lo oks at the rim. They are only shooting 76.3% at the line, which is the 23rd-highest free-throw shooting percentage in the NBA.

On the defensive end of the court, the Wizards have also struggled to keep their opponents from scoring. They are allowing 113.7 points per game and they have shot 46.5% from the floor. This is the 16th least amount of points surrendered per game and the 12th-lowest shooting percentage allowed. According to dunksandthrees.com, the Wizards have an adjusted defensive rating of 114.5, which is the 24th-lowest rating in the NBA. They have continued to contest shots in the paint, but their perimeter defense has hurt them. They have allowed their opponents to shoot 37.4% from behind the arc, which is the 27th-lowest three-point shooting percentage allowed in the league. Washington has done a solid job on the glass, though. They are snatching 43.8 rebounds per game, which is the 12th most. They have to crash the defensive glass if they want t o keep the Suns from scoring second-chance points.

Injury Report: Rui Hachimura PF (Ankle) and Delon Wright PG (Hamstring) are out.
