The Washington Wizards head to the Big Apple on Thursday night to take on the Knicks. The Wizards are in the midst of a 2-8 stretch and have won just seven games thus far after spending the offseason dismantling the roster as they begin an arduous rebuild. The Wizards continued making moves on Monday when they dealt Danilo Gallinari and Mike Muscala to the Pistons for forwards Marvin Bagley III and Isaiah Livers. The Wizards took on those same Pistons on Monday and fell 129-117 with a shorthanded roster. Tyus Jones led the Wizards with 22 points, seven assists, and six rebounds while Jordan Poole chipped in with 16 points.
“You could point to a number of things,” Washington’s Landry Shamet (11 points) said. “We had too many stretches where our attention to detail kind of fell off. Our attention to physicality.”
