The Washington Wizards start a six-game road trip Wednesday, December 14, when they take on the Denver Nuggets in the cross-conference battle at Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado, with the tip-off at 9:00 PM ET.
Washington and Denver lock horns for the first time in 2022-23, and the Nuggets aim for their third consecutive win over Washington. Denver misses Michael Porter Jr. (heel), while Washington is without Bradley Beal (hamstring), Delon Wright (hamstring), and Rui Hachimura (ankle).
The Washington Wizards (11-17; 10-16-2 ATS) have only won one of their previous 11 games overall. They are on a seven-game losing streak following Monday’s 112-100 defeat to the Brooklyn Nets. The Wizards scored just 45 second-half points against the Nets, finishing with 20 turnovers on the night. They shot 46.8% from the field (11-for-31 from deep) and 68.2% from the foul line (15-for-22).
Kristaps Porzingis dropped 20 points on Brooklyn before exiting in the third quarter due to a back injury. Kyle Kuzma accounted for 20 points and seven rebounds, while Will Barton added 22 points and seven assists off the bench. Porzingis should be ready to play Wednesday against the Nuggets.
“Hopefully we start getting some guys back. Hopefully, that's the plan,” Kyl e Kuzma said. “Tough stretch, we've lost a lot in a row, now we're going to the West playing all playoff teams. So, if we don't figure it out, it's going to be a long trip.”
