The Washington Wizards are on the road as they make the trip to face the Boston Celtics Sunday evening. Washington comes in off a 110-107 road loss to Miami Friday night as they were swept in a two-game series. They pushed on the spread as they were a three-point underdog in the game. Boston rolled to a 122-104 home win over Sacramento in their previous game, covering the 7.5-point line Friday night. In the all-time regular season series between the teams, the Celtics own a 197-119 advantage and have won the last three meetings. That includes a 112-94 home win in the first matchup this season on October 30.

Washington battled but came up on the short end of the scoreboard for the second straight game down in South Beach as they were knocked off by the Heat. The Wizards entered Saturday 10-9 on the season, leaving them second in the Southeast Division, one game behind the Hawks for the top spot. Against Miami, Washington started strong, leading by as many as 12 in the opening quarter and by 10 after one. The Wizards saw the lead trimmed to three at the half and the game was even after three quarters. Washington’s last lead came at 105-104 with 2:24 to play: they were outscored 6-2 the rest of the way to wind up with the loss. The Wizards shot 43% from the floor, including 11 of 29 from three-point range, and allowed Miami to shoot 47.2% in the game. Kyle Kuzma and Bradley Beal each had 28 points and five assists to lead the Wizards in the loss.
On the season, the Wizards are 29th in th e league in scoring offense with 108.3 points per game. Washington is 7th in rebounding by grabbing 45.2 boards a night while they stand 14th in assists by dishing out 24.9 dimes a contest. The Wizards are 8th in scoring defense by allowing 109.6 points per game. Bradley Beal leads the team with 23.1 points plus 5.8 assists per game this season. Kyle Kuzma kicks in 20.3 points and 8.1 boards per contest. Kristaps Porzingis (20.3 points, 8.7 rebounds), Daniel Gafford, Will Barton, Monte Morris, Rui Hachimura (11.6 points), Deni Avidja, Jordan Goodwin and Corey Kispert are key pieces of the rotation for coach Wes Unseld Jr. Washington is 17th in the league in field goal percentage as they shoot 46.5% from the floor as a team. The Wizards are 22nd in threes per game as they drain 11.1 triples per contest and they stand 21st in three-point shooting by connecting on 34.2% of their attempts from beyond the arc.

Delon Wright (hamstring) has played just four games this season. He is expected to be reevaluated in mid-December. Johnny Davis (groin), Hachimura (ankle) and Morris (ankle) all missed Friday’s game. Hachimura and Morris have each missed the last three contests: each of the three players are all considered day-to-day.
