The Washington Wizards invade the FTX Arena to do battle with the Miami Heat on Wednesday night.
The Washington Wizards have been in great form as they’ve won six of their last seven games overall and they will be aiming for a third straight victory after taking down the Hornets in a 106-102 win on Sunday. Kyle Kuzma led the team with 28 points, 10 rebounds and five assists, Bradley Beal added 26 points with five assists and five steals while Corey Kispert chipped in with 14 points. As a team, the Wizards shot 43 percent from the field and 13 of 34 from the 3-point line as they squandered an early 10-point lead, but they made up for it in the fourth quarter where they kept the Hornets to just 23 points to escape with the narrow victory.
Meanwhile, the Miami Heat have been in terrible shape as they’ve lost six of their last nine games overall and they will be hoping to arrest a four-game slide after falling short to the Timberwolves in a 105-101 road loss on Monday. Kyle Lowry led the team with 21 points and nine assists, Max Strus added 19 points while Bam Adebayo chipped in with 17 points, 14 rebounds and five assists. As a team, the Heat shot just 38 percent from the field and 11 of 38 from the 3-point line as they dominated the first half to build a 15-point lead, but all their hard work went down the drain in the third quarter where they got outscored by 37-19 as they had no answer for the Timberwolves’ Towns who lit them up for 25 points, eight rebounds and nine assists.
