Washington vs. Oregon State Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 12-1-2022

On Thursday, the (6-1) Washington Huskies will take on the (3-4) Oregon State Beavers at Gill Coliseum. Washington has won three straight, defeating Seattle University 77-66 in its last game. Oregon State has lost four straight after starting its season undefeated. These Pac-12 foes will tip off at 7:00 p.m. PT in Corvallis.

Washington is 6-1 but has yet to take on a Power-Five opponent this year. The Huskies will kick off Pac-12 play at Oregon State, after which it will face off with Colorado at home and travel to Spokane to play Gonzaga. In other words, it's time for Washington to prove it's the real deal.

In its latest win, the Huskies led Seattle 10-0 early but trailed 40-38 at the half. Shortly after the second half started, though, they stormed back from a seven-point deficit, going on a 25-3 run over nine minutes of action. It was the Huskies' 17th-straight win over the Redhawks in a series that dates back to 1953. Seattle was 5-0 entering the game but shot just 32.9 percent from the field, including 10-for-40 from three. Washington shot 50 percent from the floor and led by as many as 17 points.

Washington also beat St. Mary's to claim the Wooden Legacy Championship last week. Senior guard PJ Fuller made a game-tying shot to force overtime, helping the Huskies overcome a turnover-marred contest. Senior Keion Brooks, a transfer from Kentucky, scored 14 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in the victory.

Washington is scoring 70.4 points on 40.3 percent shooting this season, led by Brooks' 16.2 points per game. Freshman guard Keyon Menifield is the only other Huskie scoring over 10 points per game, although five others average eight-plus points. The UW defense holds its opponents to 63.7 points per game on 38.0 percent shooting and 25.7 percent from deep.
