Washington Huskies (4-1) vs. Arizona State Sun Devils (1-4)

Week 6 of the 2022 CFB season brings the Pac-12 Conference showdown from Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe, Arizona, so we have prepared the best Washington vs. Arizona State betting pick and odds, as the Huskies shoot for their first road victory over the Sun Devils since 2001.

Last year, the Sun Devils outlasted the Huskies 35-30 as 6-point road favorites. Arizona is a 13.5-point home underdog this time around, while the totals are listed at 56.5 points.

After winning their first four contests in 2022, the Washington Huskies suffered a 40-32 defeat at the UCLA Bruins in Week 5 and fell to 4-1 SU and ATS on the season. They couldn’t cope with the Bruins’ offense, surrendering 315 yards through the air and 184 on the ground, while the Huskies’ rushing game was a non-factor with 23 carries for 65 yards. By the end of the third quarter, Washington trailed by huge 24 points.

Sophomore wideout Rome Odunze led the charge for the Huskies last Friday, finishing with eight catches for 116 yards and a couple of touchdowns. Junior QB Michael Penix Jr. went 33-of-48 for 345 yards, four touchdowns, and a pair of interceptions, while senior RB Wayne Taulapapa had ten carries for 48 yards and five receptions for 56 yards.

” We dug ourselves too big of a hole in the first half,” Washington head coach Kalen DeBoer said. “Our guys now realize is that we're a team that people are going to get up to play. Not that we went into the game thinking otherwise, but we got to emotionally and physically be ready to play.”

After the first five weeks of the 2022 season, Penix Jr. is leading the Pac-12 and FBS in passing yards with 1,733. He’s already thrown for 16 touchdowns. Rome Odunze and Jalen McMillan have combined for 53 receptions, 837 yards, and eight touchdowns in 2022, while Wayne Taulapapa has 430 yards from scrimmage and four scores on his season tally.

Washington’s offense ranks third in the country in passing yards (364.0) and 84th in rushing yards per game (142.6). The No. 21 Huskies are tallying 41.6 points per contest (tied-12th) while giving up 23.2 in a return (57th) on 233.4 passing yards (74th) and 108.0 rushing yards (31st).
