The Washington Nationals (61-70, 75-56 RL, 61-65-5 O/U) meet with the Toronto Blue Jays (71-60, 60-71 RL, 53-72-6 O/U) in the second of a three-game interleague series on Tuesday night. The Nationals will have MacKenzie Gore on the rubber. The Blue Jays will send Jose Berrios to the mound. This is the first meeting since the 2021 season.
MacKenzie Gore will get the nod on Tuesday. Gore had bad luck last time out, allowed six runs (two earned) on four hits in four innings against the Yankees, and was hit with the loss. The young southpaw has issued a mediocre 4.22 ERA this month and has reported a 4.38 ERA and a 1.37 WHIP accompanied by a 6-10 record in 127.1 innings pitched on the season. This is his first meeting against the Blue Jays.
The Nationals continue a challenging nine-game road trek. The young squad is consistently winning, earning five consecutive series victories. They won two of three road bouts against the Yankees last week and recorded another series win against the Marlins on the weekend. They stand at 7-3 in their last ten games.
