The Washington Nationals have seemingly picked up where they left off following last year's last-place finish, losing six of their first seven games heading into Friday night's game with the Rockies. The Nationals completely committed to a rebuild after parting with Juan Soto at last year's trading deadline for a slew of prospects. The Nationals have been outscored 38-13 in their six losses thus far this season. As a team, the Nats are hitting just .227 through the first seven games with just two home runs.

Free-agent signee Trevor Williams will make his second start for the Nationals on Saturday night. Williams pitched five innings and allowed six hits and three earned runs in a loss to the Tampa Bay Rays in his first start with the Nationals. Williams coughed up two long balls to the Rays in the loss. Last April, while with the Mets, Williams was roughed up in three appearances. He pitched 3.2 innings while allowing 11 hits and had an ERA of 9.82 while going 0-2.  In 14 road appearances last year, Williams went 0-4 with an ERA of 4.08. He gave up 39 hits in 35.1 innings of work on the road. Williams also gave up six home runs in those 35 innings which could be a concern at homer-friendly Coors Field.

Key Injuries: RP Sean Doolittle is out as is OF Corey Dickerson.
